Every duffer, every player and even every professional would celebrate if they could just putt better. We all recognize the importance of putting to our overall performance on the golf course. It has often been said that putting accounts for about 40% of your total score, therefore we would do well to focus our efforts in that area.
Dooley likes to practice at home on his carpet. Many of us can work on our putting during the day while at the office. Some can even spend time at the course on the putting green on a regular basis.
Whenever you can it is highly recommended that you find some time to work on your putting skills.

Dooley has come a long way since then. He actually made two birdie putts just today. He has taken the time to learn the proper putting stroke and to practice until he is both comfortable and confident on the greens.
· Focus on mechanics. Use your practice time to experiment with different grips, stance and posture, putters and other variables to determine which works best for you. · Develop a routine. Routines help build comfort and confidence. They help to ingrain the correct thought process and address position. Practice using your routine to better simulate actual play. |
Golf Vacations Many duffers enjoy getting away to enjoy some time out of town on a golfing trip. Our partners at BarHud Travel have created some special travel packages for the friends of Dooley Duffer Golf. |

· Arrive early enough for every round to spend 15 minutes on the putting green as a warm up. You'll gain a feel for your stroke and the speed of the greens. · Short Putts. Pay particular attention to the shorter putts of 10 feet or less. You'll face far more of these than the longer version. · Use alignment aide. Use the markings on the ball as an alignment aide. Putting boils down to line and speed. Many balls today have an alignment line provided by the manufacturer. Take advantage of it. · Make your last putt. Never leave the practice green after missing a putt. Always insist on making your last putt, do it over until it goes in. There is nothing better than the sweet sound of the ball falling to the bottom of the cup to build confidence for the upcoming round. |
