Golf Swing Mechanics: Time on the Range Equals Fewer Strokes on the Course for Duffers
 by Wayne Hudler

A golfer's dream is to have the perfect effortless swing, hitting shots right on target. Discover what it takes to transform your current swing into your dream swing. Uncover the secret to a sound repeatable golf swing. See the difference it will make on your scorecard.

There are many wonderful aspects of golf that we all enjoy such as the outdoor experience, the social time with our buddies, and a healthy form of exercise. Golf can expose you to shame, ridicule and embarrassment too from ugly shots and poor swings. If you have ever whiffed on a swing in front of others then you know exactly what I am talking about.

A great way to escape this public humiliation is to work on your golf swing. If you want to improve your golf game practicing the proper swing is a fundamental element in the process. While there are many places to work on your golf swing the very best place to do so is the driving range.

The driving range is great for those with a good idea of how to correctly execute the golf swing mechanics but just haven't become good at it yet. If you are so new to golf that you haven't yet developed a basic knowledge of the proper swing then it may be best for you to get some in person help from either a golf pro or a very experienced friend. The best place to get those lessons will still be the driving range.

Whichever approach you pick to improve your golf swing you will want to begin with the basics. Experiment with variations of the golf grip, stance, posture, ball position and swing triggers. The range is the only place to do this; the course is no place to work on finding your golf swing. You'll get very discouraged very quickly. Make your mistakes on the range. Par does not exist there.

Remember that although they call it a driving range you need to work with every club in the bag. Many spend all their time while at the range hitting drive after drive. While the driver swing is important it is a terrible mistake to focus exclusively on this one club. Work on all of them; long and short irons, fairway woods and hybrids. You will need these shots while on the course so make sure you are swinging all of your clubs well. That sense of confidence you will take from the range to the course will prove invaluable as you play your round.

The driving range is the place to work out your swing faults, test your golf swing theories and warm up for the round ahead. Don't worry about what others at the range may think of your shots. What they think will not change your life or handicap one bit. Hone in on your swing and where it needs improvement.

Golf swing mechanics can be complicated to apply to your swing. Many of us have spent a number of years trying to perfect our swings. Don't think you will reach perfection or near perfection in one session at the driving range. Then again maybe you are a natural, who knows.

If you are taking time to work on your golf swing at the driving range, and you should, then get the most out of your time investment. Follow the approach recommended here and in a very short time you will notice the difference on the golf course.
